Palm Trees Beach View

Currimundi

The Currimundi and Battery Hill areas, particularly around the shopping centre, are being targeted for increased density and heights.

Council states:
"Proposed change from Specialised Centre Zone to Mixed Use Zone and District Centre Zone along Nicklin Way at Currimiundi to provide greater opportunities for redevelopment".

And it is not limited to Nicklin Way, low density residential streets going back into Currimundi and Battery Hill are also being rezoned to Medium Density.

The proposed plan's vision for Currimundi says:
"some densification has occurred around the Currimundi Centre and proposed transit station at Aroona and in some streets in Currimundi and Battery Hill."

What they don't say, there is NO plan for a transit system along here.

There is no business case for any new public transport system along this stretch and certainly no funding.
